I would like to honor the following people, who gave their care and support and love to me every single day, and those who inspired my sprit into beginning on this book.
First off, I would like to give my thanks to my mother, my most loyal supporter and who rained me with her arts on the internet. She is working on my website and will go on to help publish my books. When my imagination was blocked, she magically eased my flow again with her soft words and embraces. She is one of major reasons I ever finished this book. Three cheers for her name: Linda Zhang!
Secondly, my best friend today and forever——Meredith Wang. She is such a warm, lively person my quiet stream of imagination raises with high waves of thought. She was by my side every single day. Nothing could separate us from each other. Her loving care on me shaped how Elodie treated Serena, gentle and protective.
Don’t forget the rest of my amazing classmates: Aisha Xu, Dora Sui, Marcus Shi, Nina Ye, Elin Lv, Eason Yao, Arthur Wu, Andy Zong, Jerry Fan, Godfrey Li, Alana Liu, Elsa Chen, Reala Li and Angela Jiang, our honorable class president.
All hail my two incredible teachers——Mr. Tim and Mr. Maccarthy. The first told me the basics of being a morally true person as Serena became; the latter introduced me to the wonders of literature. They are my impenetrable shield from any “Ivy”s and “Felicia”s in my life.
Last but not the least, we have Martin Wang, the real-life Serena who tops the scores of our class, who shine with glory in knowledge competitions, exceeding especially in Geography, and is true to the world. He might not be perfect but is a hero among our hearts.
